What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a science, art, and philosophy that recognizes the relationship between the body's nerves, muscles, bones and joints can have on a person's health. Chiropractic has been helping people for over 130 years find relief from back and neck pain, hip pain, numbness and pain in the arms and legs (including sciatica), as well as headaches and the effects of diseases like arthritis and fibromyalgia.

The Science: It is a scientific fact that the nervous system controls all the other systems of the body. The nervous system communicates to these other body systems from the brain, down through the spinal cord, and out through the nerves. 24 movable bones protect this spinal cord (called vertebrae) and allow the passage of spinal nerves between each vertebra. Sometimes due to accidents, injury, over exertion, repetitive motions, improper posture, or tension and stress, the spinal bones can move out of their normal position and irritate or choke the nerves that can cause pain, numbness, tingling, burning, swelling, and even muscles to tighten up and cause spasms.

The Art: Chiropractors are "real" doctors that are trained to use your health history, examination, x-ray, and other tests to determine what the problem might be, and what can be done about it. If you have a problem that will likely respond to chiropractic care, Dr. Bergmann will offer a treatment plan of lifestyle recommendations and spinal "adjustments" to restore proper motion and position of spinal bones. Dr. Bergmann has performed over 250,000 spinal adjustments by using his hands to guide and direct controlled pressure in the right direction in the art of performing this procedure. He may also use physical therapy in the office to help you get better quicker, and offer home use remedies between visits.

The Philosophy: Chiropractors truly believe that the body has its own natural ability to heal itself-- as long as there is nothing interfering with it, like a spinal bone irritating the nerves causing all kinds of possible symptoms. Once the body is functioning properly, it can heal itself...It's inborn! Sometimes drugs and/or surgery are not necessary, and you can get relief of pain fast.

When is the Doctor Available?

Appointments are recommend to be seen by Dr. Bergmann, who will reserve a time for you to get the proper care you need. Although appointments are a priority, walk-ins will be accommodated as the schedule allows. His office hours are:

Monday - Thursday 8:30am to 11:30am and 2:00pm to 5:30pm

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please don't wait and call 911 immediately.

How Do I Make An Appointment?

Call The Office At (626) 914-2359.  If no one is available to take your call, leave a message detailing your name, phone number, and requested date and time for an appointment. We will promptly return your call with a confirmation.

At your first appointment, new patients fill out the admitting paperwork and health history questionnaire (you can download these forms from the tab above titled "Patient Registration Forms") so that we can get to know you and the reason for your visit. You'll have an opportunity to tell Dr. Bergmann about your condition and to ask any questions. You will be completely informed of what to expect next, and nothing will be done without knowledge and consent. Dr. Bergmann does not accept all cases for care. After a careful evaluation and if your condition warrants chiropractic care, you will be offered a treatment plan to regain your health. A typical first new patient office visit takes about 45 minutes.

Will My Insurance Cover the Costs?

Most likely, yes. Dr. Bergmann is a preferred insurance provider (PPO and HMO) for most insurance carriers such as Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Kaiser, Health Net, Medicare, Workers Compensation, and many others. We are also members of the American Specialty Health Plans (ASHP), American Chiropractic Network (ACN), and OptumHealth.

As an added benefit, our office and services provided by Dr. Bergmann have been approved for you to use your Medical Savings Account through your employer. The office is able to accept credit cards linked to your employer's Medical Savings Accounts for ease of reimbursement as well.

If on the rare case that your insurance does not have chiropractic coverage or you do not have insurance, be rest assured that our fees are very reasonable and affordable. Payment options include cash, check, credit and debit cards.

Where is the Office Located?

The office is located in the downtown area in the city of Glendora, just across the street west of the Bank of America. We are located on the north-west corner of Vermont Ave. and Foothill Blvd.  There is plenty of parking on our lot or on the street directly in front of the office.
